New anti-bullying book

Students at Michigan State University have published a book about bullying in the age of social media. The book is a project of an advanced undergraduate journalism course on the East Lansing campus.

The title is "The New Bullying: How Social Media, Social Exclusion, Laws and Suicide Have Changed Our Definition of Bullying - and What to Do About It."

University spokesman Tom Oswald says the book "focuses on aspects of bullying that did not even exist until recently."

Class's instructor Joe Grimm says it relied mainly on interviews and says the students used a mixture of in-person, phone and email exchanges.

Grimm says governor Rick Snyder's signing of anti-bullying legislation in December makes this an excellent time to examine the problem.
