Set the PACE 5K

Set the PACE 5K

PACE Southeast Michigan is proud to present the 3rd annual Set the PACE 5K, a fundraiser to support older adults who wish to live independently, at Eastwood Beach in Stony Creek Metro Park.

The Set the PACE 5K fundraiser supports the PACE Southeast Michigan Community Giving Fund. While PACE Southeast Michigan provides care to older adults, our program participants who often live on a fixed income have additional basic and emergency needs required to remain living safely at home. Our Community Giving Fund was established to help with these costs which can include roof repairs, appliance repair and replacement, and preventing utility shutoffs and evictions. It allows one of the most vulnerable populations in southeast Michigan – our seniors – stay in the homes and communities they love.

While the 5K name of "Set the PACE" is a fun play on words with PACE Southeast Michigan, we also take great concern for how older adults are being cared for in our communities. We see setting the PACE as setting the bar for what it means for seniors to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity in their own homes. By participating in the PACE Southeast Michigan Set the PACE 5K, YOU can help set up our Community Giving Fund for success, to ensure our participants get everything they need to stay safe in their homes.

PACE Southeast Michigan is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). PACE Southeast Michigan’s mission is to keep aging, low-income, nursing-home-eligible adults with multiple chronic illnesses independent in their own homes by caring for their medical, physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
