Grace Centers of Hope Hosts 3rd Annual “Picking Up Pontiac” Volunteer Initiative, June 6-9
Pontiac-based nonprofit Grace Centers of Hope will host its 3rd annual Picking Up Pontiac initiative June 6-9, 2024, in Pontiac, Michigan. This community-driven event brings together volunteers for four days of service aimed at beautifying Pontiac through landscaping, garbage pickup, and home repairs.
Volunteer shifts are available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 6; Friday, June 7; and Saturday, June 8; and from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, with Grace Gospel Fellowship Church offering a lunch beginning at 12:30 p.m. Volunteers will make a tangible difference in the beautification of Pontiac neighborhoods and promote the spirit of community and cooperation.

Through initiatives like Picking Up Pontiac, Grace Centers of Hope (GCH) continues to uplift and empower the community, creating a more vibrant and welcoming environment for all those who call Pontiac home. GCH provides life-saving programs and support for individuals facing homelessness, addiction, abuse, and poverty. These programs include a one-year life-skills program assisting men, women, and families in transitioning to stable housing and employment, a two-year after-care program, a children’s program nurturing at-risk children, a Hands of Hope childcare center providing a safe environment for children, and a Career and Education Center offering resources for literacy, job skills development, and higher education opportunities.
