In "Andrea Carlson Future Cache," a 40-foot-tall memorial wall towers over visitors, commemorating the Cheboiganing (Burt Lake) Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians who were violently burned from their land in Northern Michigan on October 15, 1900. Written across the walls above and around the memorial, a statement proclaims Anishinaabe rights to the land we stand on: “You are on Anishinaabe Land.”
Presented alongside are paintings of imagined decolonized landscapes and a symbolic cache of provisions. Future Cache implicitly asks those who have benefited from the legacies of colonization to consider where they stand and where to go from here and seeks to foster a sense of belonging for displaced Indigenous peoples fighting for restitution.

About the BookA Holocaust survivor facing eviction, a schoolboy struggling with his identity, a single mother who is on the verge of being exposed for embezzlement, and a speedway daredevil whose bruised body and fragile ego are beyond repair, all find themselves scouring the Southern California landscape for $50,000 in buried cash-the grand prize of a struggling AM radio station's contest. Unknown to each other but bonded by a common desire for redemption, each is a willing participant in a treasure hunt caught between nostalgia and desperation.
"The Summer of $50,000" unfolds against a California landscape very much in flux, both culturally and geographically. Only one contestant will call on a troubled past to help walk away with the money - and the salvation that they hope it will bring.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is a musical written for television but later played on stage with music by Richard Rodgers and a book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It is based upon the fairy tale Cinderella, particularly the French version Cendrillon, ou la petite pantoufle de verre (Cinderella or The Little Glass Slipper) by Charles Perrault. The story concerns a young woman forced into a life of servitude by her cruel stepmother and self-centered stepsisters, who dreams of a better life. With the help of her fairy godmother, Cinderella is transformed into a princess and finds her prince. There will be photo opportunities throughout the night as well as crowns and tiaras that can be purchased to help bring this classic to life.
Lansing Symphony Orchestra Masterworks Series 05
The season finale opens with a piece by LSO Composer-In-Residence and a Piano Concerto featuring Gilmore Young Artist, Harmony Zhu. We close our 94th season with the sonorous and romantic Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 3 in A minor. For those who know the Second Symphony, this symphony delivers that and more in a slightly more compact package featuring only three movements, a format Rachmaninoff adopted from his successful Piano Concerti. Rachmaninoff was a unique voice of the Romantic Era with diverse orchestral colors, emotional depth, and a broad expressive palate.
