It will be a fast-paced discussion about the upcoming primary as the It's Just Politics team and their panelists dig into the Republican and Democratic races for the open U.S. Senate seat and the make-up of Michigan's Congressional delegation, plus the latest out of Lansing!

Michigan Public’s book club, Michigan Public Reads, has announced its next featured book: Deus X by Lansing native Stephen Mack Jones. We'll be discussing the book Wednesday, August 21. Author Stephen Mack Jones will join the weekend morning host and producer for All Things Considered, Katheryne Friske, and other Michigan Public staff members in Detroit for a conversation about the book. This event is open to the public and readers are encouraged to join. There will also be a Zoom option for statewide listeners.

At Lake Fest, we’re celebrating the beauty of the lake and all the cool animals and people that live around it. We’re also talking about how important it is to take care of the lake and keep it healthy for everyone to enjoy.
Families, this event is for you! There’s tons of stuff to do, whether you’re a kid or a grown-up. You can try out hands-on activities, participate in projects, and meet awesome community partners who care about the lake just like us.

Join the Boll Family YMCA for afternoons of fitness and wellness during their Summer Sundays series, located at Beacon Park.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a registered dietician and learn about environmental activities that they can do to positively impact the community.
Instructors and personal trainers will guide attendees through approachable, family-friendly workouts that are designed for all skill levels.
Each class runs for 30 minutes, starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by 12:15 p.m.,with a final class at 1 p.m.

Storytime with Programs Director, Janice Wilks! Every Wednesday from 10:30am – 11:30am Storytime will be followed by activities designed for children with developmental differences. We will never tell your child to hush or stop wiggling. Physically-distanced with stringent health and safety protocols being followed. Takes place at our office: 2505 Ardmore St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. Every family leaves with a free book and a snack! If you plan on attending, please RSVP with the form below so we can make sure there’s enough goodies to go around.
