In "Andrea Carlson Future Cache," a 40-foot-tall memorial wall towers over visitors, commemorating the Cheboiganing (Burt Lake) Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians who were violently burned from their land in Northern Michigan on October 15, 1900. Written across the walls above and around the memorial, a statement proclaims Anishinaabe rights to the land we stand on: “You are on Anishinaabe Land.”
Presented alongside are paintings of imagined decolonized landscapes and a symbolic cache of provisions. Future Cache implicitly asks those who have benefited from the legacies of colonization to consider where they stand and where to go from here and seeks to foster a sense of belonging for displaced Indigenous peoples fighting for restitution.
Join us for our May Craft Fair May 18th 10-2pm.
"Share and celebrate the cultural showcase that we have in our own backyard".

The Stroll for Epilepsy™ is an inspirational event that unites the epilepsy community across the state to fight the challenges of living with epilepsy including stigma, SUDEP, misdiagnosis, treatment gaps, loss of employment, discrimination, and isolation. As the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan’s largest fundraising event, the Stroll for Epilepsy™ increases awareness and provides vital support in the fight against epilepsy. Participants are invited to join us on this one-mile leisurely walk, and participate in other activities and event fun. This year, the Traverse City Stroll for Epilepsy™ will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 10:00am at Civic Center Park.
We are excited to gather in-person this year, but those who cannot attend in-person can still participate virtually. All Strollers will have the opportunity to hear personal stories of those affected by epilepsy, fundraise, earn prizes, and make a difference in the lives of those living with epilepsy!
The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan leads the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives. Funds raised through the Stroll for Epilepsy™ will benefit the Foundation’s state-wide initiatives, making it possible for the Foundation to train school personnel on seizure first aid, host educational conferences, provide guidance and understanding to individuals affected by epilepsy through the Here for You Helpline, and more!
