An art curator returns to MOCAD after leaving over equity issues
Jova Lynne is an artist and curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.
Stateside reached out to former MOCAD executive director Elysia Borowy-Reeder for comment on Jova Lynne's accusations. Borowy-Reeder sent a statement that read, in part:
I think all allegations need to be substantiated. I do not wish to discount anyone's experience and often wonder if a man in leadership is held to the same standards... I gave everything to work at MOCAD... I hope to settle with MOCAD as soon as possible as I am looking ahead as I repair the damages of this defamatory campaign.
Stateside has invited Borowy-Reeder to come on the show and discuss some specific allegations, and to tell her side of the story in greater detail. We will have her on the program when and if she would like to come on.
