The Ford Motor Company is making plans to begin transitioning thousands of employees from working remotely to back in the office.
But the automaker is leaving the door open to those who want to continue to work remotely.
Ford has more than 30,000 employees working remotely.
During a virtual global town hall Wednesday, Ford officials announced the company is implementing a flexible hybrid work model for non-place-dependent employees.
The company plans to gradually start returning remote working employees to the physical workplace in July, though some regional offices are already implementing the new work model.
Ford officials say employees may continue to do work remotely indefinitely, with flexible hours approved by their managers.
