The annual Security at University of Michigan IT (SUMIT) symposium is designed to raise awareness and educate the community about important cyber security and privacy issues. This free event is hosted every October during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and presents a rare opportunity to hear nationally recognized experts discuss the latest cyber security and privacy topics and trends.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Join us to hear from Runa Sandvik, who will focus her keynote presentation on securing journalists and newsrooms.

Runa Sandvik is the founder of Granitt, a venture that focuses on security for journalists and at-risk people around the world. Her work builds upon experience from her time at The New York Times, Freedom of the Press Foundation, and The Tor Project. She is a board member of the Norwegian Online News Association, runs @journalistandspy on Instagram, and tweets as @runasand.
