Artist Statement: Jared P Haas - Passage
I am delighted to present a selection from my photographic journey titled "Passage." This body of work comprises a selection of images from a larger series, all relating to different definitions of the word “passage”. My focus for this exhibition predominantly centers around architectural and natural subjects.
In the series of "Passage," I seek to encapsulate the inherent meanings associated with transition and movement within architectural contexts. By capturing the interplay of light, shadow, and form, reflect upon your own personal experiences of passage.
I have collaborated with the writer, Quinten Harrow. Quinten's written passages serve as poetic companions to my photographs, providing additional layers of interpretation.
The Argus Museum, known for its commitment to preserve Ann Arbor Community’s legacy in the history of American photography, will be hosting this exhibition. An opening reception will be held July 13th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The exhibition will be hung and accessible to the public anytime the Argus Museum is open July 17 to September 15, 2023.
As viewers navigate the exhibition, they are invited to embark upon a personal journey, engaging with the visual and written narratives that explore the dimensions of passage.
