The Ukraine Relief Benefit Ann Arbor (URBAA) will be a fundraising concert held at the Ark on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 from 7:30PM until 10:30PM. Our goal is to raise donations for an organization providing direct humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees of brutal Russian aggression. Local musicians already committed to the event are renowned and very beloved: Madcat Ruth and the C.A.R.Ma Quartet, Jive Colossus, Jerry Mack and The Terraplanes, Rick Humesky (from Lady Sunshine’s X Band), the Switchbacks, the Judith Banker Band and the Andy Adamson Quintet. More may be added. The charity we have chosen is the non-profit World Central Kitchen. It has established nearly 350 meal distribution sites in border host countries to provide meals to incoming Ukrainian refugees; it also distributes food where direly needed anywhere around the globe. The brand new WCK facility in Przemyśl Poland has the capacity to provide 100,000 meals per day. General admission seats will be $20 and can be purchased in advance from information at the Ark’s website www.theark.org/ticket-information/ or at the door the night of the event.
