Wind turbines make up the bulk of Michigan's renewable energy sources.

Wednesday is the deadline to comment on a report that's likely to shape renewable energy standards in Michigan. People can submit comments on the state’s website here.

The state-issued reportsays renewable energy production is getting cheaper and more efficient. In Michigan, the vast majority is from wind turbines.

The report suggests Michigan utilities could get at least 30% of their energy from renewable sources by 2035. Right now they’re expected to reach 10% by 2015.

The report was done by officials with the Michigan Public Service Commission and the Michigan Energy Office. It was released about three weeks ago. It is one in a series of reports.

Governor Snyder is expected to use the final report to make policy recommendations to state lawmakers.
