An ex-police officer fired after a Ku Klux Klan document and Confederate flags were found in his home says in a report that they were part of his collection of antiques.
An investigation into Charles Anderson was launched after a potential home buyer, who is black, reported seeing a blank KKK application hanging in his home.
Robert Mathis and his wife, Reyna Mathis, toured the home and were later interviewed.
The 400-page report released on Monday by the city of Muskegon includes an interview with Anderson.
In the report, he denied any bias or being a KKK supporter or member.
Anderson told investigators the framed application was part of his "interest in American history and antiques."
He also said he collected memorabilia linked to "The Dukes of Hazard" TV series.
Anderson insisted in the report that he is fair and impartial.
