Cheers! Last Call: Recipes

We’re sorry you can’t join us in person at The Blue LLama! But here’s a selection of Mardi Gras drinks you can make at home to enjoy while you watch.

  • The Sazerac is the official cocktail of New Orleans and a favorite of both Tammy and Lester!
  • This version of the Hurricane is based on the original recipe, and is much brighter and more refreshing than the modern ones made with a packaged mix full of sugar.
  • And then you’ve got a couple versions of the French 75 to choose from – the original is the one with gin, but at Arnaud’s French 75 bar, they like to serve theirs with Cognac to make it more French! Both are delicious!

Laissez le bons temps rouler!

  • 2 oz rye whiskey
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (see below)
  • 4 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
  • Garnish: lemon twist

Chill rocks glass by storing in fridge/freezer or filling with ice & water for a few minutes before proceeding. Rinse chilled glass with absinthe or Herbsaint. Combine ingredients in mixing glass with ice. Stir until well chilled, strain into rinsed glass. Garnish.

Hurricane
