Three recreational marijuana businesses will soon be able to deliver their products to customers' homes.
That means no waiting in what are often very long lines for pot.
The state has approved home delivery for Lit Provisionary in Evart, Battle Creek Provisioning in Battle Creek and Nature's Releaf Burton in Burton.
Customers must be at least 21 to use the service and have a valid ID. There's a limit of two and a half ounces per order. Drivers will also have to be 21 or older, and they'll only be able to carry enough marijuana for about six stops.
At last count, Michigan has 26 retail stores that can sell recreational marijuana. Many report very high demand since selling marijuana for recreational purposes became legal in Michigan on December 1st.
The Michigan Regulatory Agency reports, from December 1 through December 29, 2019:
$6,478,116 in total adult-use sales (recreational marijuana)
$647,812 in excise tax
$427,556 in sales tax
$1,075,367 in combined excise and sales taxes
