What: The season 21 American Idol winner showcases his soulful voice and breezy island-inspired style, performing the heartfelt songs like, Sunshine, Why Kiki and Road to Hana that made him a fan favorite. The Hawaiian-born artist, of Samoan, Tongan, and Irish descent, became known for his soulful voice and heartfelt performances, fusing breezy beach balladry and sunshine country with laid-back soul and gospel. For Iam Tongi, music is about transformation, and it always has been.
Tongi is the first Hawaii-born and first Pacific Islander to win American Idol. He was also the first person to win the show who was born after its 2002 premiere. He has continued to release new music, including the single "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" for the live-action Lilo & Stitch remake.
