Join us for an afternoon of guest artists and music that will put a spring in your step and make you want to dance! Under the direction of Dr. Stephen White, the Cereal City Concert Band will present their Spring Concert, "Let’s Dance!”, on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Pennfield Performing Arts Center, 8299 Pennfield Rd, Battle Creek. Repertoire for the program includes familiar and standard wind band pieces, along with new compositions all reflecting dance forms and rhythms. The program begins with Malcolm Arnold’s iconic Four Scottish Dances, and will also include Waltz No. 2 by Dmitri Shostakovich, Polka and Fugue from “Schwanda the Bagpiper” by Jeromir Weinberger, Choral and Shaker Dance II by John Zdechlik, A Little Tango Music by Adam Gorb and Liturgical Dances by David Holsinger. We are delighted to collaborate with other artists from the Battle Creek community and are excited to feature dancers from the Shari Rarick School of Dance on Blue Mambo by Michael Sweeney, as well as vocalist Alexis Stark on I Could Have Danced All Night from “My Fair Lady”.
