The sixth annual 70 Over Seventy Next Chapter Awards luncheon and fundraiser, presented by Hannan Center, represents the human potential that continues and in many cases flourishes with age. Awardees reflect the diverse interests, accomplishments and lifestyles of older people in Michigan.

Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield starts the program; Roop Raj, Fox 2 News Detroit is the emcee; entertainment by nationally recognized Brazeal Dennard Chorale, showcasing the music of African American composers.

Ten older adults are celebrated for their accomplishments in the arts, lifelong learning and achievement, or for their role as a changemaker, entrepreneur, community leader and unsung hero. One stand-out individual from each category is presented with the Tara Franey Impact Award.

This important fundraiser supports Hannan Center’s century of work preserving the dignity of Michigan’s older adults and redefining aging through dedicated social services, creative aging programs and life-long learning opportunities.
