Local Music Groups Collaborate to "Fill the World with Music"

Two area community music groups—one instrumental and one vocal—are joining for a concert celebrating the beautiful gift of music. The DeWitt Community Concert Band, under the direction of Nicole Leppala, and the Delta Community Choir, under the direction of Ellen McKenzie, will present "Fill the World with Music" on Wednesday, March 22, at 7 p.m. at the DeWitt Middle School Auditorium, 2957 W. Herbison Road, DeWitt, MI. Each group will perform several pieces and will conclude the concert with a joint performance of "Song for the Unsung Hero."

"DeWitt Community Concert Band strives to share their love of music with a diverse audience. We are pleased that as we enter our 38th spring season concert series, to celebrate with Delta Community Choir their 10th anniversary," said Leppala. "Music connects all people, and what a wonderful way to 'Fill the World with Music' than by combining these two talented organizations."
McKenzie said she was delighted to accept the DeWitt Community Concert Band invitation, seeing this as "a way to connect and collaborate."
"This is Delta Community Choir's 10th anniversary, so we welcome this opportunity to share our music with a wider audience and to get to know other musicians in the greater Lansing area," she said.
