A large field of candidates will be on the ballot this week as Flint voters decide who they want to represent them in Lansing.
Sheldon Neeley resigned from his 34th district state house seat last year, after he won the race to be Flint mayor.
Ten Democrats, including Neeley’s wife and the son of two former state lawmakers, are on Tuesday’s special primary ballot.
The Democratic primary winner will face Republican Adam Ford in the March 10th special election.
Some candidates on the ballot have criminal histories.
Two candidates, Michael Clack and Sean Croudy, both have drunk driving arrests on their record. While a third candidate, Vincent Lang was convicted of assault.
The election will decide who will serve out the final months remaining in Neeley’s expired state House term.
