Consumers Energy to install high tech line reclosers to more quickly respond to outages
Automatic transfer reclosers or ATRs are sometimes referred to as the "traffic lights" of the power grid. Consumers Energy plans to install 123 of them across its electric transmission system to reduce response times to outages.
