There are widespread power outages in West Michigan and the northern Lower Peninsula Wednesday morning after overnight storms produced strong winds.
Consumers Energy reports nearly 190,000 of its customers don't have electricity. Consumers told WOOD-TV that it could take crews up to three days to restore power to some affected customers.
WOOD-TV also reports that most areas had wind gusts between 30 and 50 miles per hour, but some areas had gusts of 70 miles per hour.
In Southeast Michigan, DTE Energy reported more than 8,000 of its customers were without power Wednesday morning. That number has fallen to about 6,500 as of 7:30 a.m. Many of the outages are near Lake St. Clair.
Meanwhile, Michigan Radio's broadcast signal, WVGR 104.1 in Grand Rapids, lost power and the generator has failed. A crew is working to restore power, but as of Wednesday morning, there is not an estimate on when the power will be restored.
