Pakistanis Cheer Suspended Chief Justice

Thousands of people took to the streets of the Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, on Saturday demanding the re-instatement of the country's suspended chief justice.

They also called on Pakistan's military ruler, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, to step down.

The suspended judge, Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry, led the demonstrators through the streets on his way to attending a legal seminar.

Musharraf suspended the chief justice on charges of misconduct over two months ago. But Chaudhry's supporters believe the president suspended the judge in a bid to hold on to power.
