Concert of Colors Festival Returns to Detroit July 16-20, 2025

Returning July 16–20, the Concert of Colors is Detroit’s citywide celebration of global music, art, and culture. The event is FREE and open to all ages. Now in its 34th year, this multicultural festival brings together communities through world-class performances and cultural experiences at venues across the city, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre, Michigan Science Center, Detroit Historical Museum, Scarab Club, Third Man Records, Spot Lite Detroit, College for Creative Studies, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

This year’s lineup features international icons like Femi Kuti, Mavis Staples, WAR, and Bab L’ Bluz, along with Detroit legends such as Don Was and a range of local talent. Attendees can enjoy live concerts, dance lessons, art installations, films, family activities, global cuisine, vendor markets, and nonprofit info booths.

Founded as a movement for racial justice and cultural unity, Concert of Colors has grown into the Midwest’s largest free global music festival, known for its powerful message of inclusion and connection through the arts.
