Eastern Boundary Quartet

Eastern Boundary Quartet

Eastern Boundary Quartet brings its vibrant blend of American avant-garde jazz and Hungarian ethno-folk traditions to Kerrytown Concert House! Formed by acclaimed New York artists Joe Fonda (bass) and Michael Jefry Stevens (piano), together with Hungarian master musicians Balázs Bagyi (drums) and Mihály Borbély (saxophone), this ensemble creates a cultural bridge between two rich musical worlds. Their long-standing collaboration, rooted in friendship, respect, and the shared language of improvisation, infuses every performance with energy and authenticity. With powerful personalities from both the New York jazz scene and Central/Eastern Europe, the quartet’s sound is bold, imaginative, and deeply expressive.
