The internationally acclaimed Eastern Michigan University Choir performs in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti as part of the church's bicentennial celebration.
One of the most active and accomplished choral ensembles in the Midwest, the EMU Choir builds on a tradition of singing at EMU dating to 1854. This auditioned choir tours regularly, with a focus on art music for advanced choral ensembles. Accomplishments include three European concert tours; four performances with Grammy-nominated tenor, Andrea Bocelli; a Carnegie Hall Performance; Central/North Central American Choral Directors Association Conference; Michigan Music Conference; Michigan ACDA State Conference; finalist in the American Prize; and the release of six recordings in the past nine artistic seasons.
