The Motor City Irish Fest (MCIF) is one of the premier Irish-themed events in Southeast Michigan. A celebration of Irish heritage, this year’s festival features a stellar music lineup, including headline bands from Ireland and Oregon. Overall, 20 bands will be playing in two music venues. Interspersed between the music sets will be Irish dancers from seven area Irish dance schools. The event also explores Irish heritage through its Cultural Tent, and a Children’s Area with demonstrations of Irish sports, music, and storytelling. There will also be plenty of vendors of Irish and Irish-themed merchandise, and food vendors with both traditional and non-traditional foods for all tastes. There will also be a Whiskey tasting each day of the Festival (separate ticket required). New this year, the event will feature an Irish football scrimmage between the local Detroit team and another team TBD.
