The 2020 North American International Auto Show in Detroit has been canceled.
The Federal Emergency Management Administration says it will use the TCF Center as a field hospital for COVID-19 cases for at least six months.
The auto show was scheduled to begin on June 7th.
Michigan health officials say more than 46-hundred people have tested positive for COVID-19, and health care workers say Henry Ford, D-M-C and Beaumont hospitals are nearly at capacity.
The TCF Center, which used to be called Cobo Hall, is one of many sites the Army Corps of Engineers inspected as a possible field hospital.
Organizers told show sponsors in a memo Saturday that the show will still take place in June of 2021.
