Issues & Ale: The State of Our State Politics

Issues & Ale @ Home: The State of our State Politics

Governor Gretchen Whitmer gave her fourth "State of the State" address on Wednesday, January 26th. The following evening, Michigan Radio's Zoe Clark and a panel of political experts got together to take a look at what's in store for state politics in 2022.

Zoe Clark was joined by:

  • Emily Lawler, news leader for MLive's statewide team
  • Sergio Martinez-Beltran, state capitol reporter, Bridge Michigan
  • Rick Pluta, senior capitol correspondent, Michigan Public Radio Network

They had a fast-paced discussion about what the governor is proposing for her fourth year in office, what is likely to make headway in the Republican controlled legislature, and what we might expect in state politics during the 2022 mid-term election year.
Issues and Ale is an event series from Michigan Radio designed to engage people in conversations about important issues facing Michigan in an informal atmosphere. Your questions are always welcome.
