Marketing AssociateSuzanne Belanger is a Marketing Associate at Michigan Public, coordinating community and media partnerships, public relations, special events, and more. She started working in radio when she was 14 years old at her hometown station in Delphos, Ohio. Throughout her radio career, she’s worked at a number of stations in Ohio, Florida and Michigan.
Suzanne is a long-time South Lyon resident and has two children, two grandchildren and three grand-dogs.

Michigan Public will be introducing an updated weekend programming schedule beginning Friday, August 15, 2025. The revised line-up will include several new shows including PRX’s The Sam Sanders Show airing Friday and Saturday evenings, American Public Media’s This Old House Radio Hour on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and BBC’s The Arts Hour on Saturday nights.

Michigan Public has been recognized with two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards in the Large Market Radio category. The station won in the News Documentary and Podcast categories. The Edward R. Murrow Awards are presented by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) to honor outstanding achievements in electronic journalism.

Michigan Public has been recognized with nine Excellence in Journalism Awards from the Detroit Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Michigan Public reporters received seven First Place awards, one Second Place award, and one Fourth Place award.

Michigan Public has been notified that April Baer, host of the station’s daily Stateside show, has been selected to receive a National Gracie Award as best local Public Media host (Radio - Non-Commercial Local).

Michigan Public has been recognized with multiple Broadcast Excellence Awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB). These awards were announced Monday during the MAB’s live Broadcast Excellence Awards announcement show. During the show, it was announced that the station won eight “Best in Category” awards and four “Merit” awards. The station is also a finalist in two awards categories with the winners yet to be announced.

Michigan Public has received a two year grant extension from the Public Welfare Foundation to continue the station’s criminal justice reporting. This will allow the station to continue its work reporting on youth and adult criminal justice issues in Michigan.
