The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) urges waterfowl hunters to protect themselves and their pets from bird flu because there have been outbreaks in commercial and backyard poultry flocks this fall.

Parks, golf courses, and lake associations can apply to the state DNR to kill nuisance flocks of more than 100 Canada geese, if they have been unable to get rid of the flocks with non-lethal tactics.
