Ford sees strong November sales

Ford Motor Company enjoyed brisk sales for November.

Leading the charge for Ford are small cars, which enjoyed a 76 percent gain in sales over last year.

Hybrids and plug-ins accounted for almost half of Ford vehicles sold nationwide.  Ford officials say it’s the best year for small cars since 2000.

Ken Czubay is Vice President of U.S. Sales and Marketing at Ford. He says trucks are also enjoying some of the best sales in a long time.  “Last month marked our best November since 2005, seven years ago when the full size pickup truck segment was running at 58 percent higher than today.”

He continues, “November was the 16th consecutive month of year over year sales increases for our trucks…and our fourth straight month above the 50,000 pickup sales mark.”

Czubay says despite Hurricane Sandy replacement costs, sales for 2013 are expected to remain strong.
