Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged 34th District Court Judge David Parrott with domestic violence assault and battery.

Prosecutors say Parrott was arrested on Saturday after police were dispatched to a home in Van Buren Township that Parrott shares with the female victim. The victim alleged that Parrott had assaulted her - causing a bump on her head, a laceration on her right hand, and pain to her tailbone.

Parrot was arraigned on Monday in 35th District Court before Judge James Plakas. He was released on a $2,500 personal bond with an alcohol tether. He was also ordered to have no contact with the complainant and to not return to the condo they share. He also cannot possess firearms. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for February 28, 2020.

Parrott also faces drunk driving charges in Manistee County for an incident on Christmas Day, 2018. That case is still pending while aspects of it are before the Michigan Court of Appeals.
