The executive leaders of the USA Gymnastics Board of Directors, including Chairman Paul Parilla, tendered their resignation, the organization announced Monday.
This comes as the Larry Nassar sentencing hearing continues into its fifth day. Approximately 95 women and girls had given victim impact statements by the end of Friday's session. Many, including Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, called out USA Gymnastics for its handling of the scandal. Raisman added that she felt the organization was "rotting from the inside."
USAG said in a tweet that Chairman Parilla, Vice Chairman Jay Binder, and Treasurer Bitsy Kelley resigned over the weekend, effective January 21.

Last week, USAG cut ties with Karolyi Ranch, a gym where Nassar abused many of his victims.
In addition to criticizing USA Gymnastics, many of the victims called out Michigan State University and President Lou Anna Simon for continuing to employ Nassar for years after receiving complaints of his behavior.
The MSU Board of Trustees announced their ongoing support for Simon Friday, and called for the state Attorney General to open an investigation into the university's actions.
