The Moth StorySLAM is an open-mic storytelling competition in which anyone can share a true, personal, 5-minute story on the night's theme. Sign up for a chance to tell a story or sit back and enjoy the show! Tonight’s theme is…
PARTING: Prepare a five-minute story about saying goodbye, letting go, or moving on. Maybe it’s the end of an era, a relationship, or a place that felt like home. Share a tale of leaving something behind, willingly or unwillingly. Whether it’s a farewell you never wanted or the freedom found in starting fresh, tell us about the moment, the feeling, and what came after.

FAMILY MATTERS: Prepare a five-minute story about the people you're bound to by blood, marriage, or choice. Siblings, in-laws, step-relatives, or the chosen family who showed up when it mattered most. Tell us about the holiday meltdowns, the group texts gone rogue. Stories of unconditional love, long-held grudges, and the chaos that only family can bring. Did I do that?

THAT'S A WRAP!: Prepare a five-minute story about tying a bow on it. Moments of closure, clean cuts, and curling ribbon. Finally quitting your 9-5 or calling it quits on a 9-year situationship. Tales of blurry endings, grateful gifts, and surprise beginnings. Year-long resolutions, breakthroughs, or suddenly seeing the light. Tell us how you knew it was time to box it up and get a move on. Annnnnd cut!
