Rock the shore at the 20th Annual Petoskey Stone Festival! For two decades, this beloved Northern Michigan tradition has brought together families, rockhounds, local artists, and small businesses to celebrate Michigan’s state stone and the beauty of our Great Lakes region.
Join us in Eastport at Barnes Park on Saturday, May 16, 2026, for a milestone celebration filled with treasure hunting, hands-on activities, live entertainment, and one-of-a-kind vendors. Whether you’re searching for your first Petoskey stone, competing in festival contests, shopping handcrafted Michigan goods, or simply soaking in a day by the lake with family and friends, there’s something for everyone.
Powered by volunteers and supported by our community, the Petoskey Stone Festival continues to grow while staying true to its roots — affordable, family-friendly, and uniquely Northern Michigan. Come celebrate 20 years of memories and help us kick off the next chapter of this lakeshore tradition!
The Bee Day Festival hosted by River Raisin Beekeepers Club in Adrian is a one-day event held each May to celebrate our pollinators and educate our local community regarding their importance in our ecosystem. We bring together beekeepers, gardeners, and educators with the public to talk about the pollinators about what they do, why they are important, and how everyone can help. This is our fifth year holding the event and we get bigger and better with each passing year.We have many activities for the public to enjoy and be entertained throughout the day. We have an observation hive showing honeybees at work so people can safely see these amazing creatures doing what they do best. And yes, they are fully encased, so everyone is safe from the bees on display. We also have a kid crafting table where we have different activities kids can do to help learn about honeybees, games for the kids and adults, a honey tasting booth, a scavenger hunt and photo backdrops for you to enjoy. We bring in food trucks and lots of vendors that carry everything pollinator! You can find a wide variety of pollinator themed products made by local artisans. And of course, there are beekeepers with the wonderful golden liquid we all love…. Honey! We hold a silent auction at the festival with items of all kinds that have been donated by our generous local businesses and festival vendors. All proceeds from the silent auction go to support the festival and our youth beekeeper mentorship program. This is all done with the wonderful and gracious members of the River Raisin Beekeepers Club that volunteer their time and efforts to make this a fun experience year after year.
Lansing-area families are invited to Lids for Kids on Saturday, May 16, 10 am-12 pm at Frances Park, for a fun, educational bike safety event. Kids will receive a free, custom-fitted bike helmet, learn important safety tips, and enjoy games, activities, and character meet-and-greets.
Did you know? Wearing a bike helmet can reduce the risk of head injuries by up to 85%, yet only 15% of children under the age of 14 wear one while biking. Sinas Dramis Law Firms’ Lids for Kids is helping to change that; it has already provided 14,000 helmets to Michigan children.
In addition to the helmet giveaway, other activities include balloon twisting, mini tennis, bubble art, hockey puck handling, nature exploration, crafts, a bike drawing, and more. Kids must be present to receive a helmet, and helmets must be worn to enter the bike drawing.
