Storytime with Programs Director, Janice Wilks! Every Wednesday from 10:30am – 11:30am Storytime will be followed by activities designed for children with developmental differences. We will never tell your child to hush or stop wiggling. Physically-distanced with stringent health and safety protocols being followed. Takes place at our office: 2505 Ardmore St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. Every family leaves with a free book and a snack! As you look at the items in this exhibit, think about what they tell us about how Americans in the past felt about voting, and about how voting felt. How did Election Days feel when they were full of parades and music and public drinking? What was it like to vote when everyone around you knew who you voted for? And, most of all, who counted as a voter, and who did the counting?

Join Cultivating Futures for our end-of-year celebration honoring the growth, confidence, connection, and resilience developed through Power MoveMent and movement-based learning.

This community celebration brings together students, families, educators, community partners, supporters, and leaders to learn more about the impact of movement on youth well-being and celebrate the journey from movement to mastery.

Guests will hear youth, family, and community stories, learn more about the Power MoveMent program at Brookwood Elementary, and discover how they can help us expand access to movement-based programs for children and families.

Let’s celebrate the visionary creativity of Anna Sui’s incredible fashion collection!

Families will enjoy hands-on activities, experience a workshop on fashion design with repurposed textiles, and style miniature mannequins. Fashion workshops are intended for participants 5+.

The event is open to all, and activities are included with museum admission. ArtMembers and youth 12 and under are free. Advance registration is encouraged!
