Join Dr. Patrick Flynn for I Disagree, a live health seminar coming to Bay College in Iron Mountain on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Dr. Flynn challenges a common way of looking at health and disease with one foundational idea:

The body does not make mistakes.

Rather than viewing symptoms simply as things that have gone wrong, Dr. Flynn encourages people to ask a different question: Why is the body responding this way in the first place?

Our bodies are constantly responding and adapting to the environment around us—including the thoughts, traumas, and toxins we encounter throughout our lives. For a time, the body may be able to adapt appropriately to those stresses. But when they become too intense, too frequent, or too chronic, our ability to remain within healthy physiological parameters can begin to break down. That is when dysfunction and disease may emerge.

I Disagree invites you to reconsider the way you think about symptoms and the human body and to explore a different approach to pursuing better health.

If you've struggled with ongoing health concerns, wondered why you don't feel well even when you've been told everything looks “normal,” or simply want to better understand how your body works, this evening is for you.

Tipsy Ypsi offers public events throughout the week and private events anytime. With over a 14 years of Paint & Pour Party experience, we’ve developed a creative night on the town that combines art and entertainment! Grab a drink and a brush and follow along as we walk you, step-by-step, through the evening’s featured painting.

Events run for approximately 2-3 hours with FREQUENT sip breaks. You will leave with a painting that is uniquely yours, and you’ll be amazed at the art you can bring to life.

Changes over the course of the nineteenth century in how Americans voted, from voice vote to public ballot box to private voting booth, also saw changes in the material culture that surrounded voting. Ballots and ballot boxes, campaign pins and ribbons, blank lists and pre-printed party tickets, lanterns and banners–the creative forces of the American print industry filled the country’s cities and small towns with the ephemera of electioneering.

As you look at the items in this exhibit, think about what they tell us about how Americans in the past felt about voting, and about how voting felt. How did Election Days feel when they were full of parades and music and public drinking? What was it like to vote when everyone around you knew who you voted for? And, most of all, who counted as a voter, and who did the counting?

University of Michigan's Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning is hosting an exhibition of work by John Ronan Architects, led by alumnus John Ronan (B.S. '85) at our Liberty Annex space in downtown Ann Arbor. The exhibition will have Public Hours on Fridays (6-9pm) and Saturdays (1-4pm).

John Ronan Architects is an internationally-recognized design firm based in Chicago and comprised of dedicated design professionals committed to producing architecture of the highest quality, marked by conceptual innovation, exploration of materiality, and a rigorous attention to detail. Led by John Ronan, FAIA, the firm pursues an iterative design methodology to explore and test a wide range of ideas in order to find the response that feels intuitively correct for each situation, based on its unique site, program and context (cultural, historical, economic, social). Working across a wide range of scales and project types, there is a searching quality to the studio’s work which seeks to produce that which is compelling and memorable.
