Democratic State Representative and businessman Shri Thanedar won a crowded primary in the 13th Congressional District.
Thanedar bested a field of eight other candidates in the Detroit area district, including second place finisher State Senator Adam Hollier.
Thanedar will face Republican Martell Bivings in November.
