Ann Arbor for Public Power

A Washtenaw County judge on Tuesday dismissed a case arguing the Ann Arbor City Clerk wrongly approved a ballot initiative that would set the city on a course to create a municipal electrical utility.

The city of Ann Arbor, and its clerk, Jacqueline Beaudry, are being sued by a DTE Energy-funded group over Beaudry's certification of petitions to place a ballot question on the November ballot and begin the process of creating a city-owned electric utility.
