Airport officials say rural flights in Michigan will continue as usual amidst the federal government shutdown. At least, for now. Federal funding for the Essential Air Service (EAS) program is set to extend through November 2nd. Essential workers are still required to go to work without pay until the shutdown ends.

DTW's self-serve kiosks make getting a Destination Pass "almost instant." More than 25,000 have been issued to non-flying visitors since kiosks arrived in October 2023.
