At least 100 federal investigators are responding to an attack in a Michigan community where a Marine veteran crashed a pickup into a Mormon church, shot into the building and then set it ablaze during a Sunday service.

The suspect, Thomas Jacob Sanford, served in the Marines from 2004 to 2008, military officials confirmed to NPR. He was killed in a shootout with police.
