Visit the Clements Library for a celebration the publication of “The City on Three Lakes: A Maritime History of Charlevoix & the Surrounding Region,” co-authored by David L. Miles and Clements Board Member Ole Lyngklip and published by the Charlevoix Historical Society. We’re proud to have been heavily involved in the publication, with Curator of Maps and Graphics Sierra Laddusaw co-authoring a chapter with Assistant Curator of Maps Mary Pedley and many postcards from the David V. Tinder Collection of Michigan Photography sprinkled throughout the book. Sierra will present on some of the maps of Michigan featured in the book, and Assistant Curator of Graphics Jakob Dopp will show off some of the real photo postcards that were included.

Join us to celebrate the launch of Fine Design: A Studio Guide to Remixing Design, Art, Craft, and Industry, a publication by former Artist-in-Residence of 3D Design, Scott Klinker (CAA MFA Design ‘96). The book is a guide to contemporary studio practice that combines instructional methods with significant student and alumni projects developed during his years at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Scott will be joined in conversation by Director of Cranbrook Art Museum, Andrew Satake Blauvelt (CAA MFA Design ’88), following the signing.

With over a 14 years of Paint & Pour Party experience, we’ve developed a creative night on the town that combines art and entertainment! Grab a drink and a brush and follow along as we walk you, step-by-step, through the evening’s featured painting.

Events run for approximately 2-3 hours with FREQUENT sip breaks. You will leave with a painting that is uniquely yours, and you’ll be amazed at the art you can bring to life.

Reefer Madness

A high camp spin on the 1936 propaganda film of the same name, Reefer Madness turns moral panic into musical mayhem. When a pair of clean‑cut teens fall into the clutches of the reefer den, their world erupts into wild jazz, over‑the‑top temptation, and hilariously exaggerated danger; all of which is played for sharp, satirical laughs. Packed with show‑stopping numbers, outrageous characters, and high‑energy spectacle, this cult‑classic is a riotous night out you won’t want to miss.
Content Notice: Strong drug themes, exaggerated violence, sexual situations, implied nudity, and mild to moderate profanity. These themes are presented in a highly stylized, spoof-like manner rather than being entirely realistic.

With over 2,000 classic and custom cars from all over the country, this event is a must-visit for car enthusiasts. From street rods and muscle cars to hot rods and classic cars and trucks, all over thirty years old, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. The event will also feature special displays, games, and contests for kids, and a variety of activities for visitors to explore.

Visitors to the NSRA Street Rod Nationals North can enjoy browsing through the manufacturers & distributors showcasing their latest automotive parts and accessories, as well as the "Women's World" arts & craft show featuring unique items made by local crafters. Plus, Nick Donovan's Rockin' Road Show will provide music and important announcements throughout the event, adding to the festive atmosphere.
