The Gordie Howe International Bridge is known as North America's busiest land crossing as it acts as a hub between the United States and Canada for thousands traveling between each country. Located between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Canada. The bridge is named after Gordie Howe, a Canadian-born Hall of Fame hockey player who also played for the Detroit Red Wings.
The bridge's construction began in 2018 and was slated to be open in 2026 with a scheduled grand opening in June, however it was canceled after receiving scrutiny from President Trump who demanded that Canada have more ownership in the bridge. The bridge is still not scheduled to be open and is an topic of ongoing debate.
