On Thursday, August 14th at 7 pm, join University of Michigan English Professor Anne Curzan and Michigan Public’s Rebecca Hector, the hosts of That’s What They Say, at The Encore Theatre in Dexter for a fun evening discussing our ever changing English language and your favorite language pet peeves.

Detroit MI.- Woodbridge Pub | Unlimited Sky Production | Preservation of Jazz Jazzy Sundays Outside Summer Music Series, Concert & Jam Session. This weekly event will be Hosted and featured by multi-Detroit Music Award recipient Sky Covington Ft. Club Crescendo Terrance Neal on Drums, Phil Hale on Keys and Ibrahim Jones on Bass. The jam session starts on the second set.
Woodbridge Pub has a great menu… cash bar and a great staff. Also, excited to announce the new performance stage and outside ambience across the street from the Pub. Enjoy Jazz, cocktails and dinner under the stars. Although table and benches are available, feel free to bring your own lawn chairs

Shane Gillis Live comes to Van Andel Arena on August 16, 2025 at 8:00PM.Shane Gillis is a comedian, actor, and writer from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. In 2021, Gillis released his triumphant self-funded debut Shane Gillis: Live in Austin, a breakthrough hit with over 40 million views. In 2023, he released his follow-up Netflix special, Beautiful Dogs. The critically acclaimed and fan-favorite special reached the Netflix Top 10 in five countries and spent two weeks in the US Top 10 list. Beautiful Dogs was produced by All Things Comedy and Gillis’ own production company, Dad Sick Productions, which he runs with longtime comedy partner and fellow Philadelphia local John McKeever.
Alongside McKeever, Gillis will release season two of his beloved scripted series Tires in June 2025. Season one debuted in the Netflix Top 10 to record numbers. Gillis is also co-creator and star of the hugely popular web series Gilly & Keeves. The sketch series, premiering in 2020, spawned an acclaimed feature-length special in 2022.
Gillis co-hosts the comedy podcast Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast with comedian Matt McCusker. The show is the number one Patreon podcast in the world and has consistently ranked in the Top 15 on Spotify’s US Comedy Charts. Most recently, the duo announced a major partnership with Spotify to bring video episodes to the platform, marking an exciting new chapter for their devoted audience.
